NO. IMM Productions ltd is set up for artists to support them and as such wants the artist or band to retain their own copyright.

Does IMM Productions provide copy protection on sold content?
Unfortunately, no.
The cost to police and maintain this is too high.

Will my songs be chart registered?
Unfortunately not yet.
But you can help, by promoting the website to your fellow artists, because we need more than 750 constant sales per week to register for this. But when we do, we will immediately register for this. So, spread the word.
Cost and payout

How much do I make from every song sold?
Of every song sold you currently receive 70% of available revenue.
And what does this mean?

Help me promote myself

Can you show an example business card?

Can you show an example poster?
How does it work?

Are there limits to my bandcode?
Unfortunately, yes. But only a couple:
- the band code is not allowed to contain spaces, so; 'band name' is not allowed, but 'bandname' is.
- you can not have the same bandcode as someone else.
That is it.

But those mobile television adverts have got a bad name?
Yes. That is true and because of that the industry have created a code of conduct to which all mobile phone content providers need to listen.
And www.ismymusic.com (IMM Productions ltd) is a registered member of this group (www.icstis.org.uk).

Could you give an example of how it works?
Example: there is an artist called Dave Lynas and one of his songs is called: Lady Fair.
So, he registers with the site and choses as a bandcode: dl (derived from Dave Lynas).
He then uploads his first song called: lady fair and chooses as a songcode for this particular song: lady
He then makes some businesscards and tells his fans during playing: "My latest song is called Lady Fair and you can download it directly to your phone for the mere sum of £1.50; send the message: "ismy dl lady" to 60999 and click on the download link in the message that comes back.

How do the bandcode and songcode work?
The image below shows how the bandcode and songcode are used in order for a fan to request a song to download by SMS:

How does it work?
- On IsMyMusic.com you create a code for your band and for each song; this together with the ‘ismy’ code makes your link for selling to mobile phone; i.e. ismy bandcode songcode
- You upload your songs.
- Assign a artist code and a band code to it
-Tell your fans to txt ‘ismy bandcode songcode’ to 60999.
Do not forget to mention the disclaimer. :
- Works on mp3 enabled phones.
- Text cost £1.50. Standard operator charges apply.
- Must be 16+ and have bill payer’s permission. This is not a subscription service.
- Make sure you have enough credit and enough space on your phone.

I have chosen a bandcode but it already exists?
You then have to choose a different code and use that.

I lost my Song Codes. How can I find them again?

I lost my “band code”. How do I find it again?

I saw a band with the same songcodes as I wanted. Can I still have my songcodes?
Yes, you can.
Unlike your bandcode which must be unique, your songcodes can be anything you choose as long as they are unique with your bandcode.
example:
- band1 (bandcode: b1) has got a songcode called: love.
Your band (bandcode: b6) can have the same songcode: love, because for your fans the difference looks as follows:
- band01 - txt ' ismy b1 love' to 60999
- your band - txt ' ismy b6 love' to 60999

In which countries will your service work?
Currently, our service will work only in the United Kingdom, but more countries will soon be added to the list. Keep track of the news section.
You can still register and sell to your friends from the United Kingdom.

Ok, I have set everything up. Now what?
Make posters, businesscards etc with the following txt:
txt 'ismy bandcode songcode ' to 60999*
*text messages are charged at £1.50. Works on mp3 capable phones, must be 16+ and have bill payer's permission. Standard operator costs apply.

There is already a band out with the same name as ours. What do I do?
You can ask them politely if they want to stop using the name, but if that fails you would have to come up with an addition or little change to your name for use on this site.
for example: suppose the name: band01 already exists you could do the following:
- add 'uk': band01uk
- shorten it: B1
- do nothing and miss out because you are not selling your songs

What are these (sms) short codes or keywords you keep talking about?
You probably have seen the mobile adverts on television? Adverts like: for 'game A' text 'A1' to 6****.
Well in this example: A1 is a short code (also called keyword).
IsMyMusic.com has setup a system to provide unsigned artists with their own short codes (keywords) so they (the artists) can sell their own music directly to the mobile phone of their fans.

What is a "band code"?
- A "band code" is a unique code that identifies you as the artist or band on a mobile phone. When we receive a txtmessage with this code we know it is you.

What is a "song code"?
- A “song code” is a unique code that identifies your songs together with the “band code”. In this way you can sell your own songs to mobile phones.

Tips

Do you have any tips for choosing a bandcode?
Yes, but the list below is not extensive and maybe you can come up with a better one:
- keep is short; people can remember it better and it will make it faster to send a message
- make it simliar to your band / artist name: makes it easier to remember
example: Dave Lynas is not long, but it contains spaces, can easily be shortened and can be made to sound like the original artist: DL

Do you have any tips for choosing my songcodes?
Yes, we have some tips but keep in mind, this list is not extensive and maybe you are smarter then us and you can come up with some better ideas...
- Keep them short
- no spaces allowed
- keep them recognisable to the song
example:
'She's like the weather' is a brilliant title, but is long, contains spaces, whereas 'weather' still contains the essence of the title, but contains no spaces and is short.
Troubleshooting

I uploaded an image for my avatar, but it does not display?
Ah yes, we know about this one, but we have not solved it yet. Solution is simple: open the picture in paint and (re)save the picture in another file format, for example, jpg or png.
